Social Farming in Higher Education

SoFarEDU is an international project which will create a trans-national Higher Education curriculum and teaching materials for the field of Social Farming (SF). The project is led by Thüringer Ökoherz e.V. in Germany.

What is Social Farming?

Across Europe, Social Farming has many names, including Care Farming, Social Care Farming, and even Grøn Omsorg.

Social Farming (SF) is a way of using an agricultural enterprise as a setting for therapy, integration, rehabilitation or occupation of people with special needs. For the farmer it represents an opportunity to diversify income and labour sources and to take social responsibility.
